This book is a wonderfully history of the illustrations done by Norman Rockwell, one of Americas best known illustrators. Mr. Buecher gives background and influences which shaped Norman Rockwell. This illustrated history of Norman Rockwell paintings gives us an insight in to us, the average American and what we were doing during the 20th century. His work, was about the average American. Through wars, depression, civil strife and the exploration of space, he has drawn subjects from the every day happenings of which most lives are made. If you are 25 or older, you will recognize many, if not all of the illustrations in this book. Under 25, you may still recognize them, for they are still with us today! This a a fairly large, heavy book (17x12), once know as a coffee table book. |
