I am rich beyond means
I have crossed the abyss and I made it through
Darkness and gloom
are but distant memory
I have come out on the other side
For that, I am blessed!
There are those days, I must admit,
When my demons try to grab hold again
It is those days when my strength appears
It may not be immediate, but it does come
And my blessings double!
Things have happened to me in this life
Things, which I may not have caused or been aware
Yet, I was on the receiving end
My confidence was eroded word by word, deed by deed
My blessings hidden by others!
It has taken me years of pain and sorrow
to realize how wonderful this life truly is
That the fault is not always mine
I have nothing to be sorry about
And, can hold my head high
I've gone through my inferno
My trial by fire, and I survived
What tomorrow brings I do not know
But I will survive tomorrow, come what may
And for that, I am truly and richly blessed!
